Eclipse seen from Southern England, August 11th, 1999. Not a total eclipse, but bad weather made that impossible from the UK. My home in Sussex was one of only a few places that had a completely unobstructed view for the entire 2+  hours.

Florida, November 1998. More snaps.

More holiday pictures, this time from the Maldives, November 1999.

Pictures from holiday in Florida, November 2000. Various snaps of Madeira Beach and St Petersburg.

London Eye. Pictures from a trip in July 2000.

Pictures from short holiday in New York City, April 2001.

Maldives 2001. Pictures from a trip in November 2001 to the Ari Beach Watervillage resort in the Ari Atoll..

Garden / koi pond. Pictures from our new garden project starting in June 2002.

Alfie in one of his favourite places in the garden.

Alfie half asleep, as opposed to his normal state - fully asleep.

Charlie our 'ex parrot' and 'Daddy'.

Don't worry, he's alive and well and living in an aviary in Bedfordshire!

The final of the 'jump from the roof of the garage onto the wall' championships.

Alfie the expert hunter (he couldn't catch a cold) hidden in the tall savannah grass.

This is Thumper the rabbit, eating newspaper.

This is Thumper again, displaying a curious ear arrangement

Well here I am again. This is me taxi-ing a Piper Warrior II aircraft at Shoreham airport on the south coast of England, about 15 miles from where we live.

This is Jane and I standing next to a biplane at St Petersburg airport in Florida. This was taken on Nov 9th 1995 (my birthday), when Jane treated me to a flight over the beach we were staying at on holiday. It was after this that I took up flying.

This is a picture of the Epcot centre on Orlando, Florida at night. It was taken in Nov, two years ago. I just set the camera for a long exposure, and on timer and set it down on a post. It came out like this.

All the above pictures were 'grabbed' using a Logitech (Play) Snappy video still grabber. The pictures come from home movies taken using our Sony camcorder, and also from slides, negatives, and photographs filmed using the camcorder, and transferred the same way.
The next four pictures, are from a Kodak PhotoCD I had made from some old slides.

This is a picture I took about 10 years ago of the Houses of Parliament (including Big Ben's bell tower on the right) in London. I took it from the Lambeth side of Westminster Bridge. I was very lucky with the sun setting behind the building. I just had to make sure that the camera did not try to ruin it by automatically setting the exposure for me, and making the buildings too bright.

I took this picture of the harbour from St Marks (San Marco) Square in Venice in 1988. I was on an Inter-rail train holiday travelling throughout Europe with my friend John. We were at the top of St Mark's tower when the sun started setting, and we took some pictures at the top, and then went down to the harbour-side for some more. This was my best one. Unfortunately computer file format is not good enough to show this picture very well, but you get the idea. Oh yes, and I DID cheat with a warm filter!

This is a picture I took of the night sky several years ago from my bedroom window at my parent's house. The sun had set, and the sky looked black. I set the exposure for 10 seconds (much more and the spinning of the Earth on it's axis causes the stars to look blurred). However, there was obviously still enough of the sun set in the sky, for this wonderful reddish colour to show up, when I got the slide back.

Well that’s all I have for just now. I hope to change the pictures used every now and then.  Thanks for taking the time to look. BTW if you have any comments please use the feedback form below.
